Minnow Shad imitations are the go to bait on Lake Erie right now, since it is the preferred bait of the monster smallmouth that inhabit these waterways. These baits are awesome when fished on a drop shot rig and dragged across the bottom. With all of the colors these baits come in, it is real easy to find the perfect color that the smallmouth prefer. Just because the lake or river you fish does not have any Shads they can still be very effective since these baits resemble other baitfish the bass feed on.
